The municipality Fiè allo Sciliar has its lowest-lying point at 315 metres, and the highest at 2564 metres above sea level and the village itself is located at an altitude of 880 metres. Due to the position and the sunny hillsides the area has a pleasant climate which abets the winegrowing - this and the official appointment to "Kurort" (cure-district), are the reasons of health-conscious people and bon vivant. At the foot of the impressive Sciliar mountain - the very symbol of South Tyrol - there are not only a lot of sport camps but also a wild-romantic "Lake of Fiè", where people swim in the summer and skate in the winter, what attracts the sports-minded people.
